The Brand

Philosophy

We believe that anyone should be allowed to skateboard if they choose to. We value the LGTBQ+ community and want to help these people who suffer from not being accepted to show their pride, and they should be allowed to show this through their gear.

Why Make the Change to Sustainability?

Canadian Maple Deforestation

Currently to create a skateboard Canadian maple trees are cut down, as the colder weather allows the trees to grow slower which in returns allows for the boards to be stronger and flexible. With the increase of consumers wanting skateboards it increases the amount of trees that are used, which when making boards only the bottom part of the trees end up being used. On top of this, when producing these boards they will end up releasing chemicals into the air.

What Inspired FUSESKATE?

  • Eco-friendly decks that provide superior durability, pop, performance, all at a competitive cost.
  • Skating bamboo connects the rider to nature.
  • Bamboo is naturally shock-absorbent to help the deck from cracking. They are also naturally lighter and stronger than maple.
  • Bamboo has a minimal effect on the environment.
  • Every board boughten = a tree planted.
  • They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
  • Founded to focus on the environment.
  • They have used sustainable forest products to achieve this objective.
  • Their process is called "Forest to Forest".

Stickers

Customized Stickers

FUSESKATE wants to allow the community to request customized stickers that match what they love and have the choice of adding their represented flag onto the design.

Why a redesign?

As the pride stickers didn’t feel cohesive especially after adding more flags later on, it was decided that the stickers that feature the flags will be redesigned to have a cohesive style. This meant making a color palette that can stay cohesive no matter the flag added. From this, the fill color would be the colors found in the flags while its outline are a muted version of that color.

The Outcome

With this decision all existing stickers that were only pride flag based went through a redesign. This also allowed for more variations to be designed.
